Toggle Draft Mode

Can you tell me about toggle draft mode? I am building degree plans and would like to take a look at them without apply. Does the toggle allow for advisor or student view in toggle draft mode on and how do I know if I am in draft mode?

Thanks

Sure thing. Going into Draft mode is something only administrators can do. Generally, if you see the option, it means you can do it. Once in draft mode, What If and the Blank Degree Plans will select from the draft tables, instead of the production tables.

Now, What If will always show the latest possible catalog year (because if a student changes majors, they will be put into a new catalog year). So, you also need to configure the setting of "draft catalog year" for that purpose.

You will know you're in draft mode, because there will be a message at the top of the screen saying that you are. It will only affect you, not anyone else logged into the system.

We use it all the time at ULM to do just that-- check on degrees before applying them to the production tables. I believe they generally use the "blank degrees" for that purpose.
